A Path to Fun and Games

Coffeeville One Community is pleased with the progress of their latest endeavor - Project Sidewalk - A Path to Fun and Games.

The sidewalk will more than a way to get to the playground. It will be a journey of fun, learning, an adventure for developing minds.

Project Head Start was in desperate need of a paved walkway from their classroom to the playground area, and their needs were answered with a generous grant from Clarke County Parks & Recreation Foundation in the amount of $4,250. Coffeeville One Community partnered with Community Action Agency of South Alabama who provided matching funds in the form of labor, equipment, and design.

The laying of the actual sidewalk has been completed. However, the colorful learning and activity stations, as well as the landscaping, still need to be installed. Head Start plans to have the children plant tulips this fall while designs are finalized. “The longest journey begins with the first step” and the combined efforts and support of these organizations has assured that the path to learning will be a giant step in the right direction.
